Que Sera Sera: The Theme Song of Timothy Bradley Jr.

A boxers entrance to the ring can sometimes be as intriguing as the imminent fight ahead. It Is the soundtrack that sets the tone of the evening for the gazing audience. Everything from the members of the entourage to the colors of the robe are carefully planned by the promoter and fighter. Still of all the scrutinized aspects, none is more prominent to the spectator than the music being played.

A theme or walk-out song is usually a direct reflection of a fighter’s emotions at abgiven moment. It is a vicarious way of achieving a wanted perception from the audience and opponent. The next time Timothy Bradley Jr. walks to the ring. To this writer, it only seems fitting that he stride to Que Sera Sera.

Although, ‘the futures not ours you see’ is a contradiction to traditional boxing wisdom that the individual fighter controls their own destiny. ‘Whatever will be will be’ is a fantastic description of Bradley’s career in some of his biggest fights. When he lost to Manny Pacquiao in their first fight. The judges said he won. When he clearly beat Diego Chaves. The judges said it was a draw. And when dominating Jessie Vargas the entire night except for the last 20 seconds of the final round, the referee made a tremendous error and stopped the fight with 10 seconds remaining.

It may not have been such a big deal, but Vargas had just connected with a right hand that had Bradley without legs against the ropes. Odds are that if the fight had continued Bradley Jr. would have found himself again and finished the night. But since there is a slim chance he may not have, Vargas contested Bradley’s unanimous decision victory.

With all the different outcome uncertainties that have surrounded his career, to show respect, Timothy Bradley Jr. is one of the better fighters of his time. His resume is becoming hall of fame worthy with 5 titles in 2 weight classes. Notable wins include Marquez, Provodnikov, and Devon Alexander. It’s just that when one fighter has had so many different controversial decisions. It is only fitting to salute him in song. Que Sera Sera Timothy Bradley Jr. Que Sera.
